Welcome to the webpage of Prof. Dr. Claudiu Genes's group Theoretical Quantum Technology.
The Theoretical Quantum Technology group in the at TU Darmstadt investigates fundamental light–matter interactions and their potential for emerging technologies. Institute of Applied Physics
Our theoretical toolkit covers open-system methods—including quantum master equations, quantum Langevin equations, and quantum trajectories. We apply these techniques to platforms that span single atoms and molecules interacting with classical or quantum light, molecular aggregates and molecules in solid-state matrices, and quantum optomechanics with mirrors or levitated nanoparticles.
Targeted applications range from quantum memories and quantum sensors to quantifying how an optical resonator’s quantum electromagnetic vacuum alters material properties.
