Acoustically levitated water drop with reduced surface tension:
These are pictures from a parametrically excited drop under increased driving pressure. Note the changes of the modes of surface oscillations until final rupture occurs.

A piezo ceramic transducer (top) sets up a standing ultrasound wave. A fluid drop of ˜6 mm diameter is levitated stabily in the pressure node and viewed from the side.
