Arriving at Frankfurt Airport
The most convenient connection from Frankfurt airport to Darmstadt is the HEAG Airliner which is a bus shuttle service directly to/from the main railway station at Darmstadt. A brochure including a time table can be downloaded here. From there, follow the directions in the next paragraph
Arriving by train at Darmstadt Main Station
You have a couple of choices. Tram (street car) lines are denoted by numbers, bus lines by letters of the alphabet. Take either
- tram line 2 direction "Böllenfalltor", exit at "Schloß" or
- tram line 3 direction "Lichtenbergschule", exit at "Schloß" or
- tram line 5 direction "Kranichstein", exit at "Luisenplatz" or
- bus line K direction "Lichtwiese", exit at "Schloß" or
- bus line H direction "Kesselhutweg", exit at "Schloß".
If you travel by car
You can reach Darmstadt via motorways A5 and A67. Leaving at exit "Darmstadt/Griesheim" and following the signs "Innenstadt" will guide you directly onto "Rheinstraße". Once on "Rheinstraße", please follow the routes on the map to "Schlossgartenstr.".
